There are three gearboxes, each with its own engine: an IVT with the 1.5 petrol, a 6-speed AT with the 1.5 diesel and a 7-speed DCT with the 1.5 turbo petrol. The on road figure adds Delhi road tax, registration and fees, the MCD parking fee, TCS at 1% because the ex-showroom price is above ₹10,00,000, insurance (three-year third party and one-year own damage on an insured value of 95% of ex-showroom at the zone A rate, with personal accident cover and GST) and a FASTag to the ex-showroom price. It excludes a loan's hypothecation fee, accessories, extended warranty and handling charges.
Delhi charges road tax of 10% of the ex-showroom price on a petrol Creta and 12.5% on a diesel, so a diesel automatic carries more tax than a petrol automatic at a similar ex-showroom price. The IVT comes with the 1.5 MPi Petrol (115 PS and 143.8 Nm) on 6 trims, more than any other automatic. ARAI certifies it at 17.7 km/l; the same engine with the 6-speed MT is certified at 17.4 km/l.
Creta automatic diesel price: 1.5 CRDi Diesel, 6-speed AT

The diesel automatic variants pair the 1.5 CRDi Diesel (116 PS and 250 Nm) with a 6-speed AT on 5 trims. On the EX(O) it costs ₹1,65,500 more than the EX(O) petrol IVT. Its certified mileage is 19.1 km/l, against 21.8 km/l for the diesel manual. On the road in Delhi the EX(O) diesel AT costs ₹19,38,512.
Creta DCT price: 1.5 Turbo GDi Petrol
₹19,91,300 to ₹20,06,300 ex-showroom, 2 variants: King
The 7-speed DCT is the only gearbox for the 1.5 Turbo GDi Petrol (160 PS and 253 Nm), and only the King has it, in solid or dual-tone paint. It costs ₹1,22,500 more than the King petrol IVT. Its ARAI-certified mileage is 18.4 km/l. In Delhi the King turbo petrol DCT comes to ₹23,29,431 on the road.
Automatic over manual: the price gap per trim
Road tax, TCS and insurance rise with the price, so on the trims sold both ways the automatic's ₹88,000 to ₹1,45,000 over the manual becomes ₹1,03,115 to ₹1,69,907 on the road in Delhi.

On the S(O) and SX Premium, electric parking brake with auto hold, drive mode select (Eco, Normal, Sport), traction control modes (Snow, Mud, Sand) and paddle shifters come only with the automatic. On the King, the automatic brings drive mode select, traction control modes, paddle shifters and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go (SCC with S&G). The EX(O) automatic adds the gearbox alone. The King Knight and King Lounge are sold only as automatics and the 1.5 Turbo GDi Petrol comes only with the 7-speed DCT, so neither has a manual to compare.
