How the Figures Are Built
Every ex-showroom price on cretaprice.in is Hyundai Motor India's own published figure for the state concerned, shown with the date it was read. Every on road price is our calculation from that figure: the state's road tax and registration fees, TCS, insurance and a FASTag, added line by line under the rules on this page.

Ex-showroom prices by state
Hyundai lists its ex-showroom prices city by city, and in most states every variant costs what it costs in New Delhi. Where Hyundai's figure for a state differs, that state's pages and the calculator use the state's own figure; that is the case in Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya and Punjab. A page that names no place shows the New Delhi figure.
Trims Hyundai no longer sells appear only with their last listed ex-showroom price and the date and city of that listing, never as a current price. Earlier prices of current variants are what Hyundai's price list showed on a dated reading, or the launch prices Hyundai announced.
Features, colours and specifications
Features and colours come from Hyundai's brochures for the current model. Hyundai's current brochures, manuals and specification pages do not print a few figures: ground clearance, boot space, kerb weight, seating capacity, turning radius, ARAI-certified mileage by engine and gearbox, and the Creta Electric's motor torque. For these the site uses a figure only when two or more motoring websites publish the same one; a figure only one website gives, or one they disagree on, is left out. Where Hyundai publishes a figure, Hyundai's figure is the one used.
What owners and dealers report
We do not test cars or survey dealers. Real-world mileage, dealer discounts, waiting periods and problems owners report appear only when two or more independent sources agree. They are worded as what they are ("owners report"), never as our own test, and dated where they change.
How the on road price is calculated and what it includes
On road price = ex-showroom price + road tax and cesses + registration and fees + city charges + TCS + insurance + dealer items, each line worked out in rupees for the variant and the city chosen.
- Road tax and cesses. The state's rate for the car's fuel and ex-showroom price, as a share of that price, plus any cess the state adds. An electric car follows the state's own rule for electric cars, including an exemption's end date where the state sets one.
- Registration and fees. The state's registration, smart card, number plate and postal fees. The hypothecation fee is added only when the figure includes a loan.
- City charges. A charge a city adds when a car is registered there, where the state's rules include one.
- TCS. 1% of the ex-showroom price when that price is above ₹10,00,000. A car priced at exactly ₹10,00,000 pays none.
- Insurance. Three years of third-party cover at the premium fixed for the engine size or motor power: ₹10,640 for the petrol and diesel engines (1,001 to 1,500 cc) and ₹20,907 for the Creta Electric (above 65 kW). One year of own-damage cover at 3.28% of the insured value in zone A cities and 3.19% elsewhere, on an insured value of 95% of the ex-showroom price. Personal accident cover for the owner-driver at ₹750 a year, and 18% GST on all three.
- Dealer items. ₹500 for a FASTag, a typical dealer charge, shown as a dealer item.
Zone A is the India Motor Tariff's list of 8 cities: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune. Every other city is zone B. Insurers set their own own-damage premiums, so the own-damage line is a standard rate for comparing variants and cities, not a quote.
The figure leaves out a loan's hypothecation fee, accessories, extended warranty and handling charges. The total is the sum of the lines, with no rounding. It assumes a private individual buying a first new car, registered in the state where they live. Where a state's rules give no road tax rate that fits a car, no on road figure is shown for it, rather than one with the road tax left out.
The Creta on road price breakup works through every line for one variant in one state.
How tax rows are confirmed
Road tax, registration fees and cesses are set by each state and union territory. We hold one row of rules per state: its road tax rates by fuel and price, its fixed fees, any cess, and its rule for electric cars, with the date each rule took effect.
No figure from a row appears on the live site until we have confirmed that row. All 36 rows were confirmed between 21 October 2026 and 28 October 2026. Each confirmation covers the exact values it was given for, so if any value in a row changes afterwards, the row counts as unconfirmed and the site cannot be published with it until we confirm it again. The TCS rate and threshold are held to the same rule.
When a state's rules change, the row is updated and confirmed again before the new figures reach any page; until then the page keeps the confirmed rule.
What the as-on date means and when it moves
"As on" beside a price is the date that price was last read from Hyundai's price list and found current. The date moves only when the price is read again. A reading that finds no change moves the date and keeps the price; a reading that finds a change replaces the price, and the old one stays in the price history with its own date.
Prices are read by hand, not on a timer, and a date never moves without a reading. The dates the site holds now:
- Ex-showroom prices: as on 1 November 2026
- Road tax rules: confirmed between 21 October 2026 and 28 October 2026
- Insurance premiums and rates: as on 1 November 2026
- Dealer and service-centre lists: as on 1 November 2026
- Hyundai's service costs and warranty terms: as on 1 November 2026
- Rival prices: as on 1 November 2026
Hyundai's own offers appear only with the end date Hyundai gives, and an offer comes off the site with the first update after it ends.
Dealer and service-centre lists
City pages list the Hyundai sales outlets and service centres in that city as Hyundai's own dealer locator shows them, with the date the list was read. Entries are in alphabetical order and marked sales, service or both; a service centre with the same PIN code and a matching name as a sales outlet is listed once, as both. A phone number appears only where Hyundai publishes one.
There are no ratings, rankings or recommended dealers, and no dealer pays to be listed.
Rival prices and comparisons
Rival prices are each maker's own published ex-showroom prices where they can be read, or else a figure two motoring websites agree on; a rival price only one website gives is left out. Each carries its own "as on" date.
Comparison tables set each Creta variant against the rival variant with the same fuel and the same type of gearbox, manual or automatic, whose ex-showroom price is nearest; a tie goes to the cheaper rival. A picker under the table sets any Creta variant against any rival variant. Each verdict is conditional. If you need a feature, the comparison names the cheapest variant that has it and what it costs over the alternative.
Corrections
Errors reach us by email; the contact page has the address and what to send. Each corrected figure is listed, beside the value it replaced, in the corrections log in the site footer. A wrong tax figure is fixed only once we have confirmed the corrected rule.
