Creta or Tucson: what each need points to
If you want to buy new from a Hyundai showroom, the Creta is the one of the two still on sale; the Tucson has been off Hyundai's list since November 2025.
If the budget is a Creta's, every Creta, up to the King Lounge 1.5 CRDi Diesel 6-speed AT, dual tone at ₹20,45,700, costs less than the cheapest Tucson's last listed ₹27,31,661.
If you need four-wheel drive, only the Tucson had it, on the diesel Signature from ₹33,49,897.
If you want the stronger diesel, the Tucson's 2.0 makes 416 Nm to the Creta's 250 Nm.
If you need Level 2 ADAS for less, the Creta has it from the King 1.5 MPi Petrol 6-speed MT at ₹17,27,800, ₹12,37,473 below the Tucson Signature petrol.
If you want a bigger SUV on sale today, Jeep's Compass has a 2.0 diesel from ₹17,99,000, set out in Creta against the Compass.
If four-wheel drive matters more than size, Mahindra's Thar OG has it from ₹15,59,500, compared in Creta against the Thar.
Is the Tucson bigger than the Creta?
Yes. In Creta vs Tucson size, the Tucson is 300 mm longer, 75 mm wider and 30 mm taller, on a wheelbase 145 mm longer, and its boot holds 107 litres more. Both seat five.
Is the Hyundai Tucson discontinued in India?
Yes. Hyundai stopped selling the Tucson in India in November 2025, a little over three years after it launched the fourth-generation car on 10 August 2022. That leaves Creta vs Tucson a choice between a new Creta and a used Tucson.
