Creta Handling Charges

Creta handling charges are a dealer's own line, not a tax or a government fee. The EX(O) petrol IVT costs ₹17,08,341 on the road in Delhi as on 1 November 2026, with no handling charge in it. Set a dealer's quote against it line by line, for the same variant, paint, loan and insurance cover: a loan adds Delhi's ₹1,500 hypothecation fee and another insurer or cover changes the premium. A line left over, named handling, logistics or a pack, is the dealer's own and can be asked for separately.

Settle the itemised quote before you pay the balance; the dealer then raises the invoice with the Creta booking amount adjusted against the price.

What a dealer may add on top of the on road price

Every line of the ₹17,08,341 is set by someone other than the dealer, except the FASTag: Hyundai sets the ₹14,49,700 ex-showroom price and Delhi the ₹1,44,970 road tax and the ₹1,930 registration fees, with the city's mcd parking fee of ₹30,000 on top; the ₹14,497 TCS is central tax at a fixed rate, and the ₹66,744 insurance is a premium at the zone A rate. A dealer's quote can add handling or logistics charges, an accessories pack, an extended warranty or a service package on top.

The on road figure adds Delhi road tax, registration and fees, the MCD parking fee, TCS at 1% because the ex-showroom price is above ₹10,00,000, insurance (three-year third party and one-year own damage on an insured value of 95% of ex-showroom at the zone A rate, with personal accident cover and GST) and a FASTag to the ex-showroom price. It excludes a loan's hypothecation fee, accessories, extended warranty and handling charges.

Handling and logistics charges: what they are

A handling or logistics charge is a sum a dealer adds to the quote under its own name. It is not a tax or a fee any state charges, and Hyundai's ex-showroom price does not include it, so it is not part of the on road price here. Under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, not giving a bill for goods sold in the manner the rules prescribe is an unfair trade practice, so ask for every line of the quote on the invoice.

Forced accessories and extended warranty bundles

The same Act counts as a restrictive trade practice any practice that requires a consumer to buy goods or services as a condition for buying other goods or services. An accessories pack, an extended warranty and a service package are each optional purchases; Hyundai publishes its own price for the last two, from ₹15,599 before GST for a fourth year of warranty on this EX(O) petrol IVT to ₹55,199 for cover to the seventh year.

What a dealer may add to a EX(O) petrol IVT quote, and Hyundai's own price where it publishes one. None of these is in the on road price above; the package prices are Hyundai's indicative prices; ₹; as on 1 Nov 2026.

Insurance through the dealer against your own policy

The on road figure carries ₹66,744 of insurance: three years of third party, one year of own damage on 95% of the ex-showroom price, personal accident cover and GST. A dealer's insurance quote for the same cover can be set against any insurer's; ask for its insured value, own damage rate and any add-ons as separate figures.

How to ask for an itemised Creta quote

Ask for the quote line by line, in writing, and match each line with the table above:

  1. The ex-showroom price for your state, as Hyundai prices it.
  2. Road tax and any cess, then registration and smart card fees, and on a loan the ₹1,500 hypothecation fee: these are Delhi's.
  3. TCS, 1% of the ex-showroom price on a car above ₹10,00,000.
  4. Insurance, with the insured value and the covers named.
  5. The FASTag.
  6. Every other line by name: handling, logistics, accessories, extended warranty, service package. Each is the dealer's or optional.

When in the year to book: when to buy a Creta.

Can a dealer refuse delivery if you decline accessories?

Making the car's delivery depend on buying accessories fits the Consumer Protection Act, 2019's definition of a restrictive trade practice: a practice that requires a consumer to buy goods as a condition for buying other goods. Decline the pack in writing and ask for the invoice to show only the car and the lines you chose, with any Creta handling charges written as a line of their own.
